I believe that within each patient are the gifts and abilities to work through life's challenges, but that at times, we all need help to identify and enhance those abilities. I like working collaboratively with patients to draw out those abilities, strengthen them, and potentially add tools and resources to bring about the best outcome possible. I enjoy getting to know people and who they are, where they come from, and forming a therapeutic relationship that is helpful and supportive for the time we have together.
I have lived many places in my life and have had a lot of different experiences — from working and living at a remote retreat center in the mountains of Washington state to working in a homeless shelter in Delaware, from attending graduate school in South Carolina to moving back to the Midwest, where I was born and raised. I have experienced loss through the death of a loved one, divorce and subsequent shared custody of my two children who are both now grown and out of high school. I love spending time in nature, especially with my dog, and my current husband and I enjoy riding our motorcycle anywhere and everywhere whenever we can.
